As mentioned in a previous post, I have some nice terrain from ESLOTerrain. My next challenge will be to find buildings in 20mm that represent a small Irish village circa early 1900s. Eslo has a few buildings that might fit the bill, specifically the church, church ruin, city tower, town house, and stables. My issue here is the cost as the prices range from $22.63 for the church ruin up to $75.95 for the church. Ouch! Ready to use or not, those seem to be a bit pricey, and we haven't even talked about shipping costs to the United States yet (for two buildings the price is nearly $27.00!). And they have to have one of the slowest websites I have ever been on! All that aside, they make some crackin' good items, so I will probably have to bite the Enfield bullet and buy a few of their buildings. I find that painting time is more and more precious, so having pre-painted buildings will allow me to focus on painting the figures.
After doing a bit of a search on Google, I have found some paper buildings on the Winter of '79 blog. I've not used paper buildings previously for any of my gaming, but the prices are very cheap. My concern would be durability and playability, I like to use buildings that have lift off roofs so I can place figures within the buildings. I guess I could always use foamboard to reinforce the paper, which would make transport and usage a bit more palatable.
Finding 20mm vehicles for this period will be more of a challenge, but to be honest, I do not have to have any to put on a nice game. Vehicles will be a very low priority for me, plus the rules I will be using do not even cover them. Hmmm, that makes that issue easier...no vehicles!
Reviresco have all the vehicles you need in your chosen scale.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mericánach! I just took a quick look at their site. Took me awhile to find 1/72 scale vehicles, but I did. Lots of choices. Good tip!
